Preliminary Round (Group C) / Second Round, 1986 FIBA World Cup
July 10, 1986 · Málaga, Spain
Preliminary Round (Group C) / Second Round, 1986 FIBA World Cup: USA 86–64 Italy, at Málaga, Spain on July 10, 1986.
This preliminary-round result was carried forward into the Second Round standings rather than replayed, since both teams advanced together into the same six-team Second Round group — the carry-forward mechanic first used at this site's 1974 edition continued here, at the sport's newly expanded 24-team scale. It counts once, as both a Preliminary Round Group result and a Second Round result.
