Franchise history
In late 2025, most Hundred franchises sold majority or significant equity stakes to outside investors, including several IPL franchise owners, and at least two teams were renamed for 2026: Manchester Originals became Manchester Super Giants, and Oval Invincibles became MI London (Mumbai Indians/Reliance-linked ownership) — though Oval Invincibles still competed and won the 2025 title under their original name before the rename took effect. Whether every one of the competition's 8 teams was renamed for 2026 was not fully confirmed during research and is left as an open item rather than stated as complete.
