Group stage (Group B) — 1975 Cricket World Cup
June 11, 1975 · Edgbaston, Birmingham
Result: WIWest Indies — West Indies won by 1 wicket. PAPakistan 266/7 (60 overs), WIWest Indies 267/9 (59.4 overs). June 11, 1975 · Edgbaston, Birmingham.
One of the great nail-biters in ODI/World Cup history. Sarfraz Nawaz reduced West Indies to 36/3 with an early triple-strike burst, and West Indies slid further to 203/9, but Deryck Murray (61*) and Andy Roberts (24*) added an unbroken 64 for the last wicket, Roberts driving a boundary and then scrambling the winning run with 2 balls remaining. Sarfraz's Player of the Match award, despite Pakistan losing, is well attested across sources. His exact full bowling figures (cited once as 4/44) are not fully confirmed to this round's sourcing standard; the wicket count of 4 is solid.
