Gayle's 215 was the first double-century in Cricket World Cup history and, at the time, the fastest ODI double-century ever (147 balls); his 16 sixes equalled the ODI record. His 372-run 2nd-wicket partnership with Samuels was, at the time, the highest partnership for any wicket in ODI history.
