Match report

Played at Stade Lesdiguières, Grenoble. Great Britain led 5-2 at halftime and controlled the match to win 13-4, their second pool win of the tournament, keeping the Lions on course for the final. France made three changes from their previous pool match. Great Britain's captain Clive Sullivan scored one of the Lions' three tries, with Phil Lowe crossing twice; Terry Clawson kicked both of his conversions.

France's four points came entirely from individual goals by winger Jean-Marie Bonal and second-rower Victor Serrano; France did not register a try.
