Preliminary Round (Group B), 1976 Olympic Basketball
July 18, 1976 · Centre Etienne Desmarteau, Montreal, Canada
Preliminary Round (Group B), 1976 Olympic Basketball: Czechoslovakia 103–64 Egypt, at Centre Etienne Desmarteau, Montreal, Canada on July 18, 1976.
Egypt withdrew from the tournament after this loss, forfeiting its remaining 4 scheduled Group B games (vs. Italy, Puerto Rico, USA, Yugoslavia) — no nominal/awarded score was found for those forfeits in any source, so, per this project's standing practice for a genuinely scoreless forfeit, they are not represented as data rows. This means the USA's real preliminary record is 4-0, not the 5-0 this site's existing medal-context prose describes — the 5th 'win' was Egypt's forfeit, not a played game.
