This remains the only Game 7 in NBA history decided in double overtime (Boston 125, St. Louis 123); Jack Coleman's basket with 9 seconds left in the first overtime forced the second, and in the closing seconds of the second overtime, Hawks player-coach Alex Hannum inbounded a length-of-court pass off the backboard to Bob Pettit at the opposite foul line — Pettit's catch-and-shoot attempt rimmed out, sealing Boston's title. Attendance 13,909.
