Despite a torn thigh muscle suffered in Game 5, Reed limped out for pregame warmups to a roaring MSG ovation, started, and scored New York's first two baskets (his only field goals of the game, finishing with 4 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist in about 27 minutes) before Walt Frazier (36 points, 19 assists) carried the Knicks to the title.
