Group D — 2007 T20 World Cup
14 September 2007 · Kingsmead, Durban
Result: INIndia — Match tied — India won the bowl-out 3-0. INIndia 141/9 (20 overs), PAPakistan 141/7 (20 overs). 14 September 2007 · Kingsmead, Durban.
Cricket's first-ever T20 World Cup bowl-out. Independently re-verified via two direct sources after an initial research pass surfaced a genuine conflict (one source appeared to say Pakistan won the bowl-out): the main '2007 ICC World Twenty20' Wikipedia article states verbatim "India won the bowl out and qualified for the Super 8s", and a separate ESPN.com match-summary page's own title reads "Match tied (India won the bowl-out)" — both confirm India won 3-0. Mohammad Asif's Player of the Match award (for 4/18, on the losing side of the bowl-out) is separately and consistently confirmed. Both India and Pakistan advanced to the Super 8s regardless of the bowl-out's outcome, since Scotland's elimination from this group was not in question; the bowl-out determined which of the two topped Group D, not who advanced.
