Name history
Rugby league history
Churchill Park's three recorded rugby league matches span nearly three decades of occasional international and exhibition use: a 1996 Great Britain Lions Tour fixture against a Fiji President's XIII (16-42, attendance 2,700), an 18 July 1998 Fiji vs Papua New Guinea international, and -- easily the ground's largest crowd, 5,218 -- a 24 February 2024 NRL Pre-Season Challenge trial between Melbourne Storm and Newcastle Knights, an Australian club pre-season fixture staged here as a neutral exhibition venue rather than any Fiji-related international, independently confirmed as the ground's highest attendance since 2003.
