Match report

Australia needed extra time to see off a spirited New Zealand 30-20 at Huddersfield, level at 20-20 after 80 minutes before pulling clear in ten-minutes-each-way extra time. Steve Menzies scored twice for Australia, while New Zealand's Matthew Ridge missed a late sideline conversion and a drop-goal attempt that could have won it outright in normal time.
