Rugby league history
Rugby League Project's own venue page lists this ground's location as Rivne, Lviv, Volhynia, Ukraine, an internally mixed location field that this site's records reflect with the city note Lviv (Rivne). The tournament organiser's own contemporaneous announcement of the fixture states plainly that the match was played in Rivne, describing it as carrying rugby league to a new city there, which points to Rivne as the true location and Lviv as a likely database error rather than a second host city. On that basis this write-up treats the Avanhard Stadium in Rivne, primarily a football ground and home to NK Veres Rivne, as the most likely venue. Its sole recorded rugby league fixture was Ukraine's 46-6 win over the Czech Republic in the 2016 Rugby League European Championship C on 25 June 2016, in front of 1,500 spectators.
