Rugby league history
This site's city note Valencia (Xativa) reflects the venue's true location: it is a large municipal sports park in Xativa, a town roughly 60km from the city of Valencia, not in Valencia itself. Opened in 2011 amid local controversy after its cost ballooned from a budgeted 7.7 million euros to around 13 million, the complex hosted a single rugby league international: Spain lost 8-42 to Ireland on 26 October 2019 in 2021 World Cup qualifying, in front of 1,013 spectators, confirmed via Wikipedia's Spain national team match records.
