Rugby league history

Eirias Stadium is a multi-purpose athletics and football/rugby venue in Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay, opened in 1955 and long used for athletics and rugby union (it is also home to RGC 1404 in the Principality Premiership). Its rugby league history is recent: North Wales Crusaders moved there in 2021, initially because of COVID-19 restrictions affecting their previous homes at the Racecourse Ground and Queensway Stadium in Wrexham, and the move became permanent. Since then the ground has hosted League 1/League One, Championship, Challenge Cup and 1895 Cup fixtures, plus a women's international (Wales v Ireland, October 2021).

Long-standing home of Welsh athletics meetings and rugby union (RGC 1404); rugby league is a recent addition since North Wales Crusaders' 2021 move.
