Rugby league history
Brewery Field is primarily a Welsh rugby union ground, home to Bridgend Ravens since 1920 and now shared with Bridgend Athletic RFC and, for selected fixtures, the Ospreys regional side. It has a separate history of rugby league use going back to at least 1950 (an Italy touring-side match), and it became a regular rugby league venue in the mid-to-late 2000s: Bridgend Blue Bulls played there in 2005, and Celtic Crusaders (South Wales' Super League entrant) played the first four seasons of their existence at the ground from 2006 before relocating at the end of 2009. During that period Brewery Field hosted Wales international fixtures against Australia (2003), Papua New Guinea (2007) and England (2009), as well as Super League, Challenge Cup and National League matches.
Primarily and historically a rugby union ground — home of Bridgend Ravens (formerly Bridgend RFC) since 1920, and used by the Ospreys regional side for selected home matches.
