Ground facts
| Opened | around 2012 (This site's underlying venue data lists the area as Prague (Vrchlabi), but Vrchlabi is a separate town roughly 90km from Prague in the Krkonose (Giant Mountains) foothills, not a Prague suburb. The venue is most likely the rugby-league-specific facility opened by the Vrchlabi Mad Squirrels club around mid-2012, based on timing alone (the facility's opening and the first recorded match here, July 2012, line up closely) -- this identification is reasonably likely but not fully certain. A separate, unrelated ice hockey venue also called a stadium exists in Vrchlabi and should not be confused with this rugby ground.) |

Rugby league history
This community rugby league ground in Vrchlabi was built around 2012 as part of the Czech Rugby League Association's strategy of establishing grassroots clubs outside Prague. It hosted two Czech Republic national-team fixtures in the 2012 and 2013 European Bowl -- a 42-16 win over Hungary and a heavy 4-68 loss to Ukraine. The Vrchlabi Mad Squirrels have since grown into one of Czech rugby league's stronger grassroots clubs, winning the national Grand Final in 2025.
