Rugby league history

Long the home of French football club Stade Rennais and known as Stade de la Route de Lorient until a 2015 fan-vote renaming, this ground's sole recorded rugby league fixture was a stop on the New Zealand Kiwis' 1955-56 tour of Great Britain and France, where a Paris representative side beat the touring Kiwis 12-6 on 22 December 1955 in front of 1,428 spectators. Rugby League Project applies the ground's current name retroactively to that 1955 fixture; at the time it was known as Stade de la Route de Lorient.
