1929 NFL Season — Final Standings

Final standings for a landmark season for Green Bay: the Packers went undefeated at 12-0-1 for their first championship, holding off a New York Giants team that actually won more games (13-1-1) but finished with a lower percentage. Pottsville's former franchise, relocated and renamed the Boston Bulldogs, played its only season under that identity. The season also produced two enduring milestones: the first NFL night game under floodlights (Chicago Cardinals at Providence, November 3) and Ernie Nevers' 40-point single-game outburst for the Cardinals against the Bears on November 28 (six touchdowns plus four extra points), still the NFL's individual single-game scoring record as of this writing. Dayton's Triangles finished 0-6-0, their final season in Ohio before the franchise was sold and relocated to Brooklyn as the Dodgers for 1930.
