Dead rubber -- New South Wales had already clinched the series 2-0. Billy Slater's display in this loss still saw him named the series' Wally Lewis Medal winner, a widely-noted 'shock' result given Queensland lost the series. NSW made a late change before kickoff, starting Jake Trbojevic at lock in place of Jack de Belin, who moved to the bench (confirmed via theroar.com.au's pre-match team-change report).
