Ground facts
| Opened | unknown (The two matches on file (1911, 1913) predate the modern Claudelands Events Centre, which only opened in its current form in 2011 after redevelopment beginning 2007 -- that modern complex's opening date must not be confused with the ground used for these matches. At the time of the 1911-1913 matches, Claudelands denoted Hamilton's established racecourse and agricultural-showgrounds precinct, in use as a racecourse since 1887 and as an A&P show venue from the early 1900s, though no specific opening date for a rugby-league-usable field within that precinct is documented.) |

Rugby league history
In 1911-1913, Claudelands was Hamilton's principal open sports and showgrounds precinct, hosting an inter-district match between Auckland and Lower Waikato in 1911 and a leg of the touring NSW Firsts side's 1913 New Zealand tour against Waikato. It reflects the ground's role at the time as the city's main venue for occasional major representative fixtures, before dedicated football grounds were developed; the site's later history became dominated by agricultural shows and eventually today's large events complex.
