Taff Vale Park
Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Wales
Taff Vale Park, Pontypridd, Wales — opened 1890, originally used for school sports; named for the adjacent Taff Vale Iron Works, 27 rugby league games hosted, home of Pontypridd RLFC, 1926-27 season (Northern Rugby League, English competition) through the club's withdrawal on 25 Oct 1927; also historically Pontypridd RFC (rugby union, 1890-91 to 1901 and again 1907-08).
Sourcing caveat: A cluster of 1927 Northern Rugby League fixtures in this site's own match records are marked '(away)' for Pontypridd despite appearing on this venue's results list; this may reflect a data-entry quirk in the source records rather than home fixtures actually played here, so those specific results are not individually restated above.

Rugby league history
Pontypridd RLFC was formed following the 12 Apr 1922 Wales v England international at this ground. The club joined the Northern Rugby League for the 1926-27 season, finishing 27th of 29 teams with average attendances of around 5,000, then withdrew partway through the 1927-28 season (25 Oct 1927) owing debts of around £1,400, much of it to the RFL, with average attendances having fallen to around 3,000; the ground's owners had also leased it out for greyhound racing. The venue continued to host rugby league internationals after the club folded, through 1936.
Later used for greyhound racing (1927-c.1932) and speedway (1929); today home of Pontypridd A.F.C. (football).
