Rugby league history
A small South Auckland (Waikato) representative ground used briefly in the 1930s heyday of rural New Zealand rugby league. Its most notable match was a leg of the 1932 Great Britain Lions tour, in which the tourists beat South Auckland 64-11 in front of 2,000 spectators, the largest crowd recorded here; South Auckland also beat Hawke's Bay (1933) and Northland (1934) at the ground. No further matches are recorded after 1934. No capacity, floodlight or playing-surface information was found.
