Trafalgar Park
Nelson, Nelson, New Zealand
Trafalgar Park, Nelson, New Zealand — opened 1888, 4 rugby league games hosted, home of Nelson (NZRL provincial/inter-district representative side, historic).
Sourcing caveat: Rugby League Project also credits this venue with a fourth match -- a 16 October 2005 Cook Islands vs NZ Maori fixture (24-16, attendance 5,500) -- but this attribution looks likely to be an error. Contemporary 2005 press coverage of that three-Test Cook Islands/NZ Maori series places the third Test specifically at "Nelson Park, Hastings" (i.e. the Hawke's Bay region, on New Zealand's North Island), not at Trafalgar Park in Nelson city (on the South Island, roughly 500km away) -- almost certainly a mix-up between two similarly-named "Nelson" venues, Trafalgar Park (Nelson) and the separate Nelson Park (Napier, Hawke's Bay). The underlying match and its 5,500 attendance figure both appear to be genuine, just at a different ground; we could not positively confirm which venue is correct, so this match and its associated top-crowd and last-used-year figures are published here only because they appear in Rugby League Project's own record for this venue, with the likely misattribution disclosed rather than silently accepted.

Name history
Rugby league history
Trafalgar Park's two earliest, well-established rugby league fixtures place it among a handful of New Zealand grounds that hosted touring matches in the code's first years there: a 20 July 1910 loss to the pioneering Northern Union touring side (0-29, attendance 2,000) and a 24 September 1913 loss to a touring NSW representative side (2-66, attendance 2,000, also the venue's record losing margin). A 5 October 1910 inter-district match against Auckland (13-24) has no recorded attendance.
