Rugby league history
A historic central Auckland park, also host to first-class cricket 1908-1911 (Auckland Cricket Association). In 1962 the Victoria Park Viaduct (part of the Auckland Northern Motorway) was built directly over part of the park, a major structural change. Today's pavilion hosts Grafton United Cricket Club, Auckland & District Pipe Band, and Northern Regional Football Referees; whether Ponsonby Ponies still actively uses the park today, as opposed to only historically, was not confirmed.
Also hosted first-class cricket 1908-1911; the Victoria Park Viaduct motorway was built over part of the park in 1962.
