Name history
Rugby league history
A New Plymouth, New Zealand venue used for Taranaki representative rugby league fixtures across a long span (1911-1934), including a heavy loss to a touring 1912 NSW rugby league side (crowd 1,000, the top figure recorded on this site) -- part of one of the formative early interactions between New Zealand and Australian rugby league. Today it is a public recreation reserve used for walking and lawn bowls rather than an active sports venue. No capacity, floodlight or playing-surface information was found.
