Rugby league history
Ack Weyman Oval, home of the amateur Moruya Sharks on the NSW South Coast, hosted a specially arranged NRL pre-season trial on 12 February 2023, a tribute the Canberra Raiders brought to the bushfire-affected region in memory of local rugby league figure Ack Weyman. The sold-out crowd of 4,535 saw Canterbury-Bankstown beat Canberra 34-18, and the event raised over $25,000 for grassroots rugby league.
