Rugby league history
Barcaldine Showgrounds is a regional agricultural show and multi-sport ground in outback central-western Queensland, in the same sparsely-populated Country Week-hosting district as several other remote grounds on this site. Its two recorded rugby league matches, from 2016 and 2018, were Queensland Cup fixtures brought to the town as part of the Queensland Rugby League's regional promotion programme, which periodically relocates state-competition home fixtures to country towns rather than reflecting a genuine local senior club.
