Boorowa Showground was one of the twelve original Maher Cup towns' home grounds -- the Maher Cup was a rugby league challenge-cup competition contested by NSW Group 9 towns from 1920 to 1971. All 5 recorded matches, 1947-1958, are Maher Cup challenge games, each lost by Boorowa. The ground remains in use for junior rugby league today.
