Rugby league history
Cameron Park's one recorded rugby league match, per Rugby League Project, came on 19 June 1929, part of the NSW Tour 1929: a North West NSW representative side lost heavily, 0-76, to the NSW Firsts state representative team in front of 1,500 fans. This was a one-off touring fixture typical of the era when NSW's top representative side toured country districts to promote the game and raise funds, with Inverell one stop on that circuit.
