Rugby league history
Clermont Sports Grounds, in central Queensland, is the home venue of the Clermont Bears, the most successful club in the regional Central Highlands Rugby League with seven A-Grade premierships since 1993. The three matches actually recorded here on Rugby League Project, however, are Queensland Cup fixtures from 2013, 2017 and 2026 involving Norths, Central Queensland (Capras), Redcliffe and Mackay -- none of them Clermont Bears games. This points to occasional use as a 'country round' promotional venue for the state-level competition, since the Capras' own home ground is Browne Park in Rockhampton, not Clermont.
