Ikon Park
Melbourne (Carlton North), Victoria, Australia
Ikon Park, Melbourne (Carlton North), Australia — opened 1897, 5 rugby league games hosted, home of Carlton Football Club (AFL), primary tenant 1897-2005, still training/administrative base today; no permanent rugby league tenant — used briefly by the Balmain Tigers (NSWRL) for relocated "home" games in 1994, and later by the Melbourne Storm (NRL) as a training/admin base while AAMI Park was being built (c.2006-2010), including at least one pre-season trial.
Sourcing caveat: Our recorded total of 5 rugby league games at this venue (1992-2010) could only be fully corroborated for 4: the 1992 Ashes Test, two 1994 Balmain Tigers relocated NSWRL matches, and one Melbourne Storm pre-season trial (c.2007) — exact dates for the 1994 and 2007 matches could not be found, and the identity of a possible fifth match could not be established. No State of Origin match has been played here; Melbourne's Origin games have been hosted at other venues.

Rugby league history
Princes Park's rugby league use was a byproduct of the sport's expansion push into Victoria in the early-to-mid 1990s, culminating in the 1992 Ashes Test as a marquee one-off international in a non-traditional rugby league market. Its later (2006-2010) rugby league connection was purely incidental: Melbourne Storm used it as a training and administrative base while their own purpose-built stadium was under construction, not as a genuine home venue, playing at least one pre-season trial there. The ground is overwhelmingly known as the historic home of Carlton Football Club in the AFL.
The historic home ground of Carlton Football Club (AFL), 1897-2005; also hosted Test cricket and VFA/VFL matches over its long history.
