Kawana Sports Precinct

Rugby League: Venues ▾

Kawana Sports Precinct, Brisbane (Kawana Waters), Australia — opened unknown, 8 rugby league games hosted, home of Sunshine Coast Falcons (from 1996) and, more recently, the Sunshine Coast women's side.

Sourcing caveat: This entry covers the wider Kawana Sports Precinct's ancillary fields, not the co-located main arena, Sunshine Coast Stadium (which has its own separate history, much larger recorded attendances, and current NRL/A-League tenancy) — the two should not be conflated.

Ground facts

Openedunknown (No official opening date was found for the precinct's ancillary fields specifically. The earliest recorded rugby league fixture (30 March 1996) shows the site was in use by then, well before the co-located main stadium (Sunshine Coast Stadium, opened 2011) existed.)

Name history

    Rugby league history

A 45-hectare sporting complex at Bokarina on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, built around what is now Sunshine Coast Stadium. The eight rugby league fixtures recorded on its ancillary fields span three decades of developmental rather than headline football: Queensland Cup trial games for the fledgling Sunshine Coast club in 1996, three pool matches of the 2008 Women's Rugby League World Cup, a 2017 National Youth Competition fixture, and a 2025 QRL Women's Premiership match. No crowd figures survive for any of them.
