Kellyville Ridge Reserve, a $6m joint Blacktown City Council and NRL project, opened in 2018 as Australia's first all-weather synthetic rugby league field, intended as a hub for junior and community rugby league in Western Sydney. All 5 recorded matches were played there in October 2018 as part of the Emerging Nations World Championship, after the tournament's intended venue, New Era Stadium in Cabramatta, was flooded.
