Name history
Rugby league history
Kitchener Park's four recorded matches span 44 years and several distinct eras of country rugby league: a 1950 loss to the touring Great Britain Lions (5,313), a 1959 loss to the touring New Zealand Kiwis (4,556), a 1964 State Cup representative loss to North Sydney (4,000), and -- by far the ground's biggest crowd, 7,742 -- a 27 February 1994 Tooheys Challenge Cup semi-final between two Sydney premiership clubs, South Sydney and Balmain, an unusually high-profile fixture for a regional NSW ground. The venue remains an active Group 4 rugby league ground today, home to the Gunnedah Bulldogs, and has been the subject of recent grandstand upgrade discussions by Gunnedah Shire Council.
