Name history
Rugby league history
Knox Park in Murwillumbah, New South Wales is named for Edward Knox, founder of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company, which owned most of the land Murwillumbah now stands on and withheld a 17-acre block for public recreation when auctioning its holdings in 1888. All 5 recorded matches were representative or interstate touring fixtures between 1925 and 1940 -- NSW, Queensland and regional teams -- rather than a club's regular home ground, consistent with the park's role as an occasional venue for larger representative occasions.
