Name history

  • Les Hughes Sporting Complex — named for Les Hughes from the outset (Oct 1979), no evidence of an earlier/different name

Rugby league history

A council-named (1979) multi-sport complex in Bray Park, Moreton Bay region, north Brisbane, used across decades by various Brisbane/Queensland rugby league clubs as well as other sports and community groups (PCYC Queensland, Pine Rivers Pumas rugby union). No Test, representative, or Cup matches found — documented fixtures are club-level BRL/QRL matches, including Past Christian Brothers' 26-16 win over Logan on 3 Jul 1994 and Pine River Brothers' 40-20 win over Port Moresby Vipers on 31 Mar 1996. Rugby League Project's records for the venue run 1993-1997 (42 games), which likely reflects a gap in that database rather than the ground ceasing rugby league use, since other clubs continue to use the complex today.

Also used by PCYC Queensland and Pine Rivers Pumas Rugby Union Club.
