| Opened | The park's general history dates to 1914 onward as a public park; this predates and is unrelated to its rugby league use (This venue does NOT appear to have ever been a home ground for any rugby league club — it was used only as an emergency/makeshift venue during the 1942 Brisbane Rugby League (BRL) season, after the Brisbane Cricket Ground (the Gabba), Lang Park, and Davies Park (West End) were all lost to the competition, likely to wartime requisition. The BRL was reduced to using Oxenham Park (Nundah), New Farm Park, and occasionally the Brisbane Exhibition Ground (RNA) that season.) |
