Name history

- Bob Singh Oval — used historically for the specific rugby league field within the precinct
- UAA Park — current naming-rights name for the same field
Rugby league history
Burleigh's rugby league club, formed in 1924 as Burleigh Heads RLFC, played first at Rudd Park (from 1934) before relocating in 1971 to Pizzey Park in the neighbouring suburb of Miami, on the Gold Coast, where the Burleigh Bears have remained ever since. The specific playing field within the 60-hectare Pizzey Park precinct — which also hosts rugby union, AFL, soccer, netball, softball, athletics and the Miami Aquatic Centre — has carried the sponsorship names Bob Singh Oval and, currently, UAA Park, with the adjacent Burleigh Leagues Club clubhouse next to the field. The Bears have won four Queensland Cup premierships while based there (1999, 2004, 2016 and 2019), and the ground has been used for NRL pre-season trial matches, including one in 2012 that drew over 7,200 spectators, well above its normal listed capacity.
