Ray Edwards Oval is the long-time home of the Sarina Senior Rugby League Football Club, which marked its centenary in 2025, competing in the Mackay & District competition. Its two recorded higher-profile matches, both directly confirmed against Rugby League Project, were Queensland Cup fixtures: a 2004 match (NQ Young Guns 18-16 Tweed) and a 2022 match (Wynnum-Manly 34-18 Mackay), the latter confirmed as a Country Week-style fixture bringing the Mackay Cutters close to their home turf.
