Sourcing caveat: Opening year could not be confirmed from any source found (Cumberland Council's own page gives current facilities but no history/establishment date); it has therefore been left as 'not confirmed' rather than guessed, with the earliest documented rugby league fixture (1971) given instead as a lower bound.

The earliest rugby league fixture found in this project's own venue directory and on Rugby League Project is a tour match on 25 June 1971 (Second Division XIII v Papua New Guinea); Wentworthville as a club dates back to 1913, but that is the club's founding, not the ground's.)

Rugby league history

Ringrose Park, on the corner of the Great Western Highway and Cumberland Highway in Wentworthville, Sydney, has been the long-time home of the Wentworthville Magpies, whose club history dates back to 1913. It has mainly hosted second-tier rugby league - New South Wales Rugby Football League first-grade/reserve fixtures through the 1970s-80s and, more recently, NSW Cup and National Youth Competition matches from 2008 into the mid-2010s - along with occasional higher-profile fixtures, including women's international rugby league (Australia and Great Britain) and an NRL pre-season trial between Parramatta and South Sydney played there on 21 February 2020. The ground sits next to the Wentworthville Leagues Club and today also hosts other sports (cricket, football/soccer, netball) as a Cumberland City Council-run facility.
