Rugby league history
This ground sat within the Australian Army's School of Military Engineering at Moorebank and Casula, NSW, which trained roughly 40,000 troops over its history before the facility closed in 2015 when its units relocated to Holsworthy. Its single recorded rugby league fixture was a low-key trial match on 25 May 1953, when the touring USA American All Stars beat a Royal Australian Engineers side 41-10 in front of 1,000 spectators, played to help the American players learn the sport ahead of their official tour matches.
