Name history
Rugby league history
Stan Williams Park in Manunda, Cairns is named for Stan Williams, described as a local rugby league pioneer, and is the home ground of Brothers Cairns. It has also served as an occasional secondary venue for Cairns' top-tier Queensland Cup representative sides over the years -- Cairns Cyclones (2000), NQ Young Guns (2006-2007) and Northern Pride, the last confirmed by Wikipedia as stepping in specifically when the Pride's usual Barlow Park venue was unavailable in 2018, including a finals match. A $12 million, club-funded Stage One redevelopment was completed in mid-2025, with a state-government-funded Stage Two, adding floodlights for the first time, confirmed in 2025.
