Rugby league history
Taylor Oval, Moree's historic multi-sport ground dating to an 1892 gazettal, hosted cricket, rugby union, athletics and greyhound racing over the 20th century alongside rugby league. Its sole recorded top-flight rugby league match was a 7 June 1978 tour fixture in which the touring New Zealand Kiwis defeated a NSW Northern Division representative side 28-3 before a crowd of 5,000.
