'The Last Shot': trailing late, Jordan scored a driving layup, then stripped the ball from Karl Malone on the ensuing possession and hit a 20-foot jumper over Bryon Russell with 5.2 seconds left for an 87-86 lead, clinching Chicago's sixth championship of the decade and Jordan's sixth Finals MVP award in as many Finals appearances.
