Name history

    Rugby league history

A genuinely minor amateur ground with little press coverage of its own history, its chief notability lies in two things: being Stanningley's long-standing home, and serving as Leeds Rhinos' first-team training base and an Academy venue for the club's age-grade sides. It has also recurred periodically as a neutral or home venue for early-round Challenge Cup ties, hosting matches for both British Police RLFC (2010, 2014, 2015) and Stanningley themselves (2016 onward) through to 2026. Stanningley's women's team won the RFL Women's Championship in 2017 and 2018 and the RFL Women's Division 1 title in 2014, though it is not confirmed those matches were played specifically at this ground rather than elsewhere.
