Rugby league history

One of English rugby league's longest continuously-served grounds — Wakefield Trinity's home since the club's earliest years. Hosted the 1922-23 Challenge Cup Final (Leeds beat Hull FC 28-3) before 29,335 spectators, the only Challenge Cup Final ever played here and still the ground's attendance record. Has also hosted international Test/touring matches over the decades, including England vs Wales in 1909.
