Rugby league history

Braywick Park is in Maidenhead, Berkshire — NOT Oxfordshire, despite this site's own venue directory listing the town as 'Oxford (Maidenhead)'. That labelling traces to Rugby League Project's own venue page, which lists the location as 'Maidenhead, Oxford, Oxfordshire' — almost certainly a conflation of the home club's name (Oxford Rugby League) with the actual town. Oxford RLFC, despite its name, plays its home games here in Maidenhead, roughly 25 miles from Oxford itself. The park is also home to Maidenhead RFC (rugby union) and Maidenhead & Bray Cricket Club, and has faced local redevelopment pressure and a 'Save Braywick Sports Park' community campaign. Highest recorded rugby league attendance: 502, Oxford v Coventry Bears, League 1, 27 Jun 2015. Competitions hosted: Championship 1, League 1, Challenge Cup, League 1 Cup, League 1 Shield.

Also home to Maidenhead RFC (rugby union) and Maidenhead & Bray Cricket Club.
