Rugby league history

Primarily a greyhound racing venue, briefly used by the newly founded Doncaster R.L.F.C. (1951) before the club moved to Tattersfield, their long-term home from 1952/1953 to 1995. No internationally or historically notable rugby league matches were found beyond the 1951 inaugural league fixture. Also hosted speedway (Doncaster Stallions, Doncaster Dragons, 1970s), stock car racing, and had an on-site casino until the late 1960s. Demolished 1986; the site is now residential (Clearwell Croft and The Leas).
