Name history

    Rugby league history

Father Ranger Oval in Warwick, Queensland is named for Father Hal Ranger, a local priest honoured with life membership by the Warwick Cowboys. It hosted Toowoomba representative State League fixtures in the early 1980s, predating the Warwick Cowboys club's own 1986 founding by several years, before settling into Queensland Cup use in later decades. A May 2022 flood destroyed the ground's original clubhouse and equipment; a flood-resilient, elevated replacement clubhouse, funded by a joint state and federal disaster-recovery grant, opened in September 2026 alongside the club's 40th anniversary celebrations. The ground also hosted a pre-season NRL trial between Brisbane Broncos and Souths Logan in 2019.
