Name history
Rugby league history
The rugby union home of Chester RUFC since 1961, when the club moved from thirty years at Boughton Hall Cricket Club to this purpose-built site, opening with a Cheshire Presidents' XV v Lancashire Presidents' XV match watched by over 1,000 people. It is primarily a rugby union venue and has only occasionally hosted rugby league, as an out-of-area or split-venue home fixture for North Wales Crusaders, whose main grounds over the years have included Glyndŵr University Racecourse Stadium, Queensway Stadium and Eirias Stadium.
